Going back…
Starting Weight Watchers again today..or at least trying to. Culinary school and weight loss do not mix!! Since we start the raw section next week I figure I should be ok. No more bread, frying, tofu, rice, beans etc weeks. The damage done in 11 weeks (can’t believe I’ve already completed 11 weeks!!!) was not huge but bad enough!
We had a class field trip today to a community garden. This weeks course is about local foods. We visited the community coop which had beautiful hens. Saw the compost piles and helped clean a plot and plant. As a reward I was able to bring home lavender clippings!!!
I’m going to go gluten free starting next week (Our nutrition class has convinced me) but tonight is a gluten feast.
Baking is officially over :( we had our practicum. Had to make Vegan gluten free Chocolate chip cookies, Vegan pumpkin pancakes with a fruit topping - I made an apple, rosemary, maple syrup & cinnamon w/ walnuts topper. And orange, ginger, cranberry, walnut scones.
Vegan hash (potatoes, vegetables, field roast chorizo and kidney beans) with the whole wheat tortillas we made in class on flatbreads day.

Linzer w/ raspberry jam, oatmeal raisin cookies, hello dolly bars and orange hazelnut biscotti

We had a visitor today! Kristin is on an awesome “1-year-long, vegan food-focused cross-country road trip, in search of the best vegan food and vegan restaurants in the United States!” and everyone should check out her story!!!!
